[Note:—A child stands in the centre of the ring. All sing. At " Tramp, tramp," and at " clap, clap," all stamp and clap in time. At " linger beckon thee," the child at the centre beckons to some one in the ring, who joins him They cross hands and skip around the ring while the children sing the refrain. The last child chosen leads the first to his place, makes a polite bow, and returns to the centre, when the game continues.]
